Edward Dillon Jr.

Edward Dillon Jr. was born January 16, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the oldest of six children born to Edward Dillon Sr. and Emma Jean Dillon. Edward attended Oakenward South and Martin Luther King High School. He met his soul mate, Beverly Andrews in 1981 and they united in marriage on November 17, 1984. To this union two children were born, April and Edward III. After a careful study of God's word the Bible, Edward dedicated his life to Jehovah and symbolized his dedication through water baptism on June 14, 1986, becoming one of Jehovah's Witnesses. As a faithful servant of Jehovah for over 29 years, he accepted the responsibility of preaching the good news about God's kingdom and sharing the truths of God's word to everyone he came in contact with, no one was a stranger. Edward will be remembered as a hard working man who loved his wife and children dearly. Always the provider, he worked many jobs over the years. In his last job, he worked for Walgreens where he retired from after 11 years. Edward loved his extended family, his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, everybody. Family was important to him. There were also many things Edward like to do. He loved to go fishing, playing video games and playing cards. On January 5, 2015 at 10:20 p.m., Edward Dillon Jr. fell asleep in death. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma Jean and Edward Dillon Sr.; one sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis (William Dilworth) Dilworth; one brother, Donald Dillon; and one niece, Samantha. Edward leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 34 years, Beverly Dillon; two children, April Dillon and Edward Dillon III; three grandchildren, Milik Dillon, Edward Dillon IV and Jacob Josiah Dillon; one sister, Tina (Robert Deberry) Deberry; two brothers, Anthony (LaShaun Dillon) Dillon and Derrick (Linda Dillon) Dillon; 13 nieces, Latasha, Belinda, Melissa, Anita, Alexis, Alexandria, Ashley, Priscilla, Gabriella, Mahogany, Brittney, Ashley and Sidney; 6 nephews, Alonzo, Lorenzo, Geraldo, Derrick Jr., Anthony Jr. and Shawn; 17 great nephews; 11 great nieces; the Lundy Family, the Andrews Family, and a host of other relatives and friends.
