Mr. Steven A. Fuller

Steven Allen Fuller was born to the union of Howard and Mercelene Fuller on February 5, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois. He was the second of five children. Steve attended and graduated from Thornton Township High School. During high school there was a special young lady that caught his eye, and on December 16, 1968, Steve married his high school sweetheart Jimella Bowers. From that union four children were born, three girls and one boy. Family was very important to Steve. He loved traveling with them going on vacations such as to The Red Carpet Inn, Kings Island, The World Fair, Cruises and an International Convention. Steve was a hard worker, employed by various companies. He retired from International Harvester in 2016. As a young man, Steve was interested in learning about God. Upon studying the Bible, he loved what he learned from the scriptures and dedicated his life to Jehovah on October 13, 1974. After his retirement, his love for people and Jehovah moved him to enter into the full-time ministry on September 1, 2016. Steve was a dynamic speaker who enthusiastically talked about his Father Jehovah. He often struck up conversations with strangers telling them about Jehovah and his purpose for mankind and the earth. Steve loved being an Elder for various congregations and being the Coordinator of Body of Elders at the Harvey West Congregation. He enjoyed helping his brothers and sisters and was a real source of comfort to those dealing with discouragement and adversity. He had a gift for teaching others about the Bible, aiding several to become one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Steve had a fond interest in jazz and singing. Throughout his early life Steve sang in various groups. Some of his favorite times was singing with his brother-in-law Grena Bowers, along with James Kane and Johnny McCall in the group, “Brothers 4 Life”. For many decades they traveled to different areas entertaining and encouraging through their songs, for the enjoyment of friends and family. To say that Steve was a sharp dresser is an understatement! His love for hats, ties and shoes made even a casual day look like the “Gentlemen’s Best”. Always impeccable and unmatched. He had a hat to match every outfit. Sadly, on September 20, 2022, Steven A Fuller fell asleep in death. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mercelene Fuller, sister Venita Miller and daughter Nicole Fuller (Cola). Steve leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife Jimella Fuller; children Annette McHerron (Stavone), Felicia Fuller, Steven Fuller Jr.; his grandchildren, Glen Marquis Carter, Antaun McHerron (AD), D’Andre Fuller (DJ), Sa’Niyah Fuller, Jakari Fuller, and Steven Fuller III; his sister, Patricia; brothers George Boddie (Glynis) and Michael Ellis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and well-loved family and friends. We will miss our dear husband, father, pa pa, uncle, brother-in-law, spiritual father and friend. How thankful we are that Jehovah gives us exactly what we need during this “short time” of sadness. (1Pet 1:6) Our hope is sure that Brother Fuller will rest, but will stand up for his lot at the end of the days (Daniel 12:13). We all long to see and hear him again soon.
