Thomas Albert Horne

Thomas Albert Horne was born to Albert and Theora Horne in Chicago, Illinois on November 14, 1961. Thomas attended Walter Dyett Elementary School and graduated fromDuSable High School in 1979. After graduation, he worked with the McDonald's Corporation. He was trained and eventually promoted to the position of Manager. He left McDonalds to attend Olive-Harvey College but soon dropped out because he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps as a semi-trailer truck driver. He attended school for truck drivers, received his license and eventually became an Over-The-Road (OTR) Driver traveling from coast to coast. He particularly like Florida and said one day he planned to settle there. Thomas was ambitious and tried going into the trucking business for himself but was unable to continue in this venture because of his illness. Thomas had a very pleasant personality and always took time to listen and help people whenever he could. He was very respectful of Jehovah's Witnesses. Whenever he was approached at the truck stops by the brothers in the ministry, he would stop and listen and proudly tell them his mother was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. They're were times he even called her on the phone to introduce her to the brothers. Thomas had a very special relationship with his granddaughter Natalia from the day she was born. They often spent time together going to many of her favorite places especially McDonalds for Chicken McNuggets. He purchased her very first tablet and bought her a motorized car which she still has not learned to drive. Thomas wanted her to see Disneyland and Disneyworld and financed a trip for her to attend with her parents. On March 28, 2017 at 10:20 p.m., Thomas fell asleep in death at the Riverview Rehabilittion Center. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert in 1998. Thomas loved all of his family and leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter, Tinka Monique Barland (Ricardo); his son, Mario; one granddaughter, Natalia; his mother, Theora; his sister, Ellen; his aunts, Alma Crawford and Mildred Tyson, Delores Ross and Renola Wicks (Coleman); uncles, Dolphins Horne (Sophia), Mercel Horne (Carrie) and Samuel Horne; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
