Mr. Bryant Marks

Bryant Edwards Marks was born August 25, 1970, in Chicago, IL to the union of Wayne and Gladys Marks. He was the youngest of two children, the only boy. Bryant was preceded in death by his father Wayne Marks. Bryant attended the Harvey Public School System and graduated from Thornton High School in 1988. He had various odd jobs until he found his almost lifelong career as a parking attendant. He held that position for over 25 years until the pandemic caused him to make a career change in 2021, moving to Amazon. He served as an Elder for over 20 years, serving in the Canterbury and more recently the Central Markham congregation. Bryant had various privileges during his time served as an elder. He had the opportunity to serve as the Secretary, Watchtower Study Conductor, and Service overseer. He also had the privilege of attending elder school several times and working the stage at various Conventions and Assemblies. Because Bryant took his responsibility as an elder and shepherd serious, many who didn’t know him thought he was an extremely serious person, but all who really knew Bryant knew he was the hall clown! Bryant was truly loved by many because of his candor and quick sense of humor. On August 18,1996, Bryant married the love of his life, Angie. The two of them celebrated their 26th Wedding Anniversary this past August. In 2001, Bryant and Angie welcomed the second love of his life, his “twin” Brynyah. The two of them would go on to forge a special bond. Where he went Brynyah soon followed. Everyone who knew Bryant knew he was a sharp, colorful dresser with a love for ties and handkerchiefs and he could put some combinations together. Bryant also loved to cook, you would often hear him say “Man I made some FYE wings last night.” Bryant was an avid football, basketball and baseball fan. His favorite teams to be disappointed by yearly were the Chicago Bulls, Bears and White Sox. On Monday, October 10, 2022, Bryant unexpectedly fell asleep in death. Bryant leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife Angela Marks; his daughter and “twin” Brynyah Marks: his mother Gladys Marks, his sister Geraldine (Willie) Hartfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
