Mrs, Constance Scott

Constance, affectionately known as Connie, was born on April 25, 1941, to Walter L. Sr. and Willie B. Varner, in Chicago, Illinois, and was the youngest of seven children. Connie met and later married Tommy Lee Scott-Dickerson. To this union eight children were born. After a careful study of the Bible, Constance dedicated her life to Jehovah and symbolized that dedication through water baptism in June 1976. She loved Jehovah and was always at the meetings. Even though her meetings were on Zoom, Connie didn’t complain but began learning the new technology, which was a challenge at first, but she mastered it to be on with her meetings, her spiritual family, and her ministry. Connie loved music, dancing and also loved to dress up and go out on the town. She especially loved greens, seafood, barbecue ribs cooked on open flames, strawberries, watermelon and her favorite water, Coca-Cola. Connie had two special friends Linda Washington and Leonard Hale, she was loved by the residents of Park View Tower where she resided and witnessed to the security guards and neighbors. She was truly loved and all who visited in her home experienced her hospitality. Connie also had admirers at the Kenneth Campbell Apartment Building who truly helped her during her sickness. They extended their helping hands when she returned from the hospital with a brain tumor in 2018, and these were Katherine Taylor, Eloise Qualls, Thelma Burrows, Mr. and Mrs. Ladell (Diane) Holms, and Kenny Minor, and Mrs. Carie Petties. On December 17, 2021, Constance fell asleep in death. She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings Walter L. Ford Jr., Hosea Ford, Ted L. Ford, and Bernard Varner; her husband Tommy Lee Scott-Dickerson; and two children George Vance Lewis and Una Mae Scott. Constance leaves to cherish her loving memories, one brother Eddie Lee Ford of Chicago; her beloved children Cecelia Scott, Zachary Scott, Tommy Scott Jr. (Robin), Veronica Jackson, Jerome Scott, Christie Varner, Thea Shadd, Tonya (Eugene) Taylor Michigan Todd, and Kenneth; her grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as her spiritual family, and friends.
