Craig Rollins

Craig Courtney Rollins was born to the union of Chauncy and Ruby Rollins on June 21st 1954. Being born into a large, low income family, Craig was determined at a young age to earn his own money. He began working at the age of nine- delivering newspapers. Having a knack for fixing things, Craig was later taken under the wing of “Red”, a neighborhood repair man that taught him how to proficiently use tools. The skills that Craig learned eventually led to him starting his own successful construction company, Dyna-Craft Contracting, a legacy that was passed down to his three sons. Craig’s mother, Ruby, learned about the true God, Jehovah, and always taught her children by word and action to love Jehovah. Craig dedicated his life to Jehovah and symbolized it by water baptism in 1973. Shortly thereafter, he met the love of his life, Illona. After a brief courtship, they were bound in marriage in September of 1977. Craig would affectionately call Illona “Babes”. He worked hard to provide for her and his children all the while showing what it means to love Jehovah. Although he faced many hardships and challenges throughout life, Craig always found a way to maintain a positive attitude, often saying: “Everything’s Copacetic!” Craig was the kindest, most generous man around, always giving when he could to those in need and volunteering his time to help others with their spiritual and physical needs. He always relied on Jehovah and had a firm belief in a resurrection to come where all things will be made new- a solid hope passed on to his children and a hope that takes away some of the pain caused from his passing. Craig will be fondly remembered by his beloved wife Illona; devoted siblings Mavis, Kimberly, Tammy, Cecily, Patricia, Blair, Trevor and Victor; loving children LaTonyia, Andre (Selena), Daniel (Kerry), Cory and Tyler; treasured grandchildren Brianna, Charles, Maurice, Dylan, Ayden, Kylen, Rock and Rhys; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruby and Chauncy and his siblings Regina, Randal and Hampton.
