Eva Collier

Eva was welcomed into the family of Odell and Elnora Arnold in Dry Grove, Mississippi where she was nurtured. From the beginning, she grew in an environment that led her to have an interest in knowing the Creator and seeking to serve him acceptably. Her life proceeded though elementary, grade and high school. Those years adequately prepared her for life upon graduation. Eva enjoyed work, marriage and family life. As a mother, she reared two daughters, Ruby and Debra and one son, Wayne. This brought added joy to her life. Eva felt however, that her life took on significant meaning when walking down the street she found a muddy Watchtower magazine published by Jehovah's Witnesses. She took it home and read it that very night and sought more information. She pursued this interest by having a Bible study with the Witnesses and rapidly progressed to symbolize her dedication through water baptism becoming one of Jehovah's Witnesses. As Eva's appreciation for true worship grew, her desires to please Jehovah God more fully led her to enter the full time service as a Regular Pioneer. She served faithfully for 39 years from 1974 until 2013. What an accomplishment that brought her peace and satisfaction in how she used her life honoring her Heavenly Father, Jehovah God. As a mature Christian woman, Eva set a good example for Christians. She gave loving support to those who needed it and began many friendships along life's journey that endured and enriched her. All who knew her well marveled at her sense of humor and candid speech. She loved to cook and enjoy good food and good company. Eva fell asleep in death on Saturday, July 29, 2013 after a brief illness. She readily accepted visitors and appreciated their loving concern for her welfare. Each visitor brought a smile and much comfort to her. She felt loved! Eva's many years of faithful service set a fine example to follow. From this way of life she made a good name with Jehovah God and his earthly organization. Eva leaves to cherish her life and memory, her children, Ruby Collier, Debra Bowens and Wayne (Henrietta) Collier; sisters, Minnie Pearl Stencle and Mary Hamlin; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, friends and a great crowd of fellow worshippers.
