Flora D. Bell

Flora D. Lynn-Bell was born on March 14,1933 in Abbeville, Alabama to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Norton and Emma Lynn. She was the third of seven children. On July 1, 1951, Flora married Richard Bell, her childhood sweetheart. To this union three girls and three boys were born. In 1956, after being married for five years, they relocated to Chicago, Illinois as a family of four and thereafter the family continued to grow. Flora was a devoted mother who desired and sought to all her children graduating from high school. After raising her children, Flora began working for Leaf Candy Company and was there many years before the company closed. She volunteered some of her time as a senior companion and in 2011 she was awarded Most Outstanding Senior Companion for that year. Flora was well known for her frankness and always willing to give honest and helpful advice to those asking it. She was an admired example of a strong woman. After a careful study of the scriptures with Jehovah's Witnesses, Flora desired to apply what she learned. She dedicated her life to Jehovah and symbolized her dedication through water baptism. She remained a loyal and faithful servant preaching to all she came in contact with. On August 1, 2013, Flora D. Lynn-Bell fell asleep in death. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two siblings, Nancy Jones and James Lynn. Flora leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Martha House (Ernest), Richard Bell Jr., Jerry Bell, Loretta Muller (Mark), Billy Bell and Doris Foster (Jerome); her grandchildren, Marque, Derrick, Telli, Kelli, Marcella, Ian, Donovan and Evan; her great grandchildren, Tamia, Ryan, Taniqua, Amia, Jaylan and Isabel; five sisters, Pauline Williams, Lalor Hoston, Irene Green (Tim), Winnie Faye Jones and Annie Doris Yancey (Willie Lee); two brothers, John L. Lynn and Leonard Lynn (Veronica); two step-sisters, Lula Mae Clark and Mary Hunter (William); two step-brothers, Robert Lynn (Annie Ruth) and Val Lynn; one aunt, Rosie Lee Scott; two uncles, O.B. Corbitt and L.B. Corbitt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
