George Hines Jr.

George Hines Jr. was born on August 18, 1957 to Mr. and Mrs. George and Jean Hines Sr. in Chicago, Illinois. He was the sixth child born to this union. Raised in the inner city of Chicago, George received his education in the Chicago Public School System. He moved to San Antonio, Texas where he achieved a Certification as a Cook, that was one of his passions. In 1988, George met and later married Gale Flaton. To this union two children were born, Jacob and Jeanette Hines. When this marital union ended George moved away. George relocated back to Ford Heights, Illinois, where he met and later married Eddie Mae Ross. Together they resided in this south suburban community where George was known as a family man and a friend to many. George loved his family. If he knew of anything going on with any family member, he was on his way, needed or not. George liked to talk if you really wanted a long conversation, especially concerning his children. Jacob was the center of his heart and he wanted the best for him. Jeanette was the apple of his eye. He always said with a laugh that she was just like her mother, and could always keep him in line. George had a good sense of humor. He was a jack of all trades and worked with his hands. He learned auto mechanics from his father. He also enjoyed working in his yard, doing construction, welding and a host of other trades. He had a spirit of helping others and was always there to lend a helping hand. George knew the word and the promises God has for us. On November 3, 2013, in Frances, Arkansas, while in route to deliver a car to his daughter, George made his transition from this earthly life to eternity. We love you George, but God loves you best. Rest in peace George, no more pain, no more sorrow, God knows you had your share. You are at home with our God and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mrs. Jean Hines and one brother, Jerome Hines. George will truly be missed by all. He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his loving wife, Mrs. Eddie Mae Hines; his son, Jacob Hines; his daughter, Jeanette Hines; three stepchildren, Ruth Ann Simpson, Delores Renee Ross and Ira Burton; two grandchildren, Aji J. Hines, Jaylin Isaiah Hines and one on the way; his father, George Hines Sr.; five brothers and eight sisters, James Hines (Jackie), Louise Hayslett, Peggy Hood (Walter), Alvin Hines, Calvin Hines (Donna), Diane Hines, Pauline Montgomery, Joyce Hines, Renee Hogan (Travis), Christine Hines, Felicia Peterson (Michael), Maurice Hines and Roscell Hines; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
