John B. Rigoni

John B. Rigoni was born in Quebec, Canada on November 19, 1956. He was adopted in the United States by his parents Thomas B. Rigoni and Marie Ann when he was six months old. John accepted Christ an early age. He grew up on the south side of Chicago, where he attended Hard Knocks Elementary and graduated. In 1970, John attended Leo High School. Shortly after, John attended and graduated from St. Xavier University. In 1978, John joined the Merrionette Park Police Department working part time, he worked there for 10 years. In 1988, John joined the village of Calumet Park Police Department working part time, and in 1991, he started working full-time and became a D.A.R.E. Officer. During the years working at Calumet Park Police Department, John worked as a Detective of Investigations, he later became a Sergeant. Working on the streets in Calumet Park, John was known as “Ragman” where everyone honored and respected him. In 2010, John was united in holy matrimony to Tarsha Webb and from this union John help raise his stepson Lelan, his stepson Eric and his stepdaughter Shanika. John and Tarsha moved to Lansing, Illinois in 2010. In June 2013, John transferred his membership to Community Covenant Church. In his spare time, John went fishing, watched the Chicago Bears and watched the Chicago Blackhawks. John also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. In 2014, John joined the American Legion in Lansing, Illinois, as a S.A.L. member and later became a Legion Rider. Late afternoon on November 6, 2018, John transitioned to be with the Lord. John leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife, Tarsha Webb-Rigoni; his son Anthony Rigoni; his stepson Lelan Cooper, his stepdaughter Shanika Webb and his stepson Eric Nelson; five grandchildren Jahmel, Lariyah, Micah, Malachi and Mielah; his mother-in-law Mary Ann Webb; sister-in-law Felicia Webb, brother-in-law Will Webb (wife Pam), brother-in-law Dennis Cole (wife Debbie) and brother-in-law Randall Rushing; his nieces Spirit, De’Lisa, De’Laina, and Heather; nephews Blake and Chris; his American Legion family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
