Mr. Lewis McGee Jr.

Lewis McGee, better known to his family as “BoBo,” was born September 7, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois to father Tommie Lee McGee, who preceded him in death and his mother Tauheedah Bridges. He was brother to three siblings, his older sister, Diane Grandberry, and two brothers, Lewis Jadon McGee and his youngest brother, Maurice McGee, who preceded him in death. Upon graduating from high school, Lewis joined the U.S Army, leaving behind his childhood sweetheart, Libby McGee, to fully commit himself to the protection of our country. After completing such an honorable service of four years, he came home in 1984 to fulfill the beginning of his God-given duty of father to his son, Tyjuan Keith and his daughter, Keisha McGee. It was not soon after this return that he and Libby tied the knot, becoming Mr. and Mrs. McGee, November of 1986. From this union, two more children were born, two daughters, Vivian McGee and Tauheedah McGee. Everyone who knew Lewis “BoBo”, knew him, of course in different ways, but regardless of the level, the Love remained a common denominator amongst all relationships. He was a no-nonsense man, but one who Loved in his own way, nevertheless. To his family, he was an excellent provider and protector. He had a laugh that will eternally linger in the memories of those who shared laughter with him. He was, “Prince Haasan McGee,” renaming himself in his later years, and known to others as “Black Man.” To the women in his family, he will always be remembered, for no one could call us “Queen” like he did. On Sunday, December 4, 2022, Lewis was called to depart his earthly temple, and although not here in the present, he will forever live in the hearts of all who knew him, his mother Tauheedah, his wife: Libby, his children: Tyjuan, Keisha (Simon), Vivian, and Tauheedah, his grandchildren: Ernest, Elijah, Zoe, and Tau’lia, his sister:Diane, his brother:Lewis, his family in-law: Mack, Bunny, and Ronnell, special nieces and nephew: Ayesha, Head, Kameelah (Jhei-R), Jakhyia (Choyce), Ronta', Jaylyn, Jhei-R, Little Ronnell, and Javari, and a host of family and friends.
