Melinda Austin-Dixon

Melinda Austin-Dixon was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 3, 1965 to John and Rosie Austin. She was the fifth child out of seven children. Melinda Austin was baptized at the age of 8 years old under the leadership of Pastor W.C. Fisher of St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church. Melinda graduated from Tilden High School in June 1983. She devoted her time and energy as a caregiver for her mother and others. Melinda Austin had two beautiful children with Aaron Robison Sr., a daughter, Carmiilita Austin and son, Aaron Robison Jr. and her stepdaughter, Dominique Dixon. She joined union with Michael Ray Dixon on August 12, 2000, a marriage of 15 years. She was a faithful and loving wife, mother and grandmother who adored her two grandchildren, Ayanna and Kay'Davida Ross. Melinda Austin-Dixon joined 1st Holy Zion Missionary Baptist Church in March 2013, under the leadership of Bishop Dave A. Jordan. She joined the Worship and Praise Team which she enjoyed singing with at church. She was a faithful and devoted member. Melinda Austin-Dixon departed this earthly body on November 19, 2015, at the age of 50. Her father, John Henry Austin; her grandparents, Annie and Dave Cook, Mamie Austin and Henry Dixon; and her uncles, Freddie Cook Sr., Eddie Cook and James Cook, all preceded her in death. Melinda Austin-Dixon leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband, Michael Ray Dixon; two children, Carmilita Austin and Aaron Robison Jr.; two grandchildren, Ayanna and Kay'Davida Ross; her mother, Rosie Austin Akins; her siblings, Yolanda Austin, Denise Austin (Wendell), Etear Lowe (Walter), John Austin (Lillian), Tarnita Brooks (Antwain), Andre Austin (Lysette); brothers-in-law, Rodney Dixon and Andre Dixon; one stepdaughter by marriage, Dominique Dixon; mother-in-law, Henrietta Dixon; father-in-law, Billy Ray Dixon; aunts, Ella, Diane, Janice, Rose, Ruthie Lee, Ruther Lee, Lula and Shirley; uncles, Charles, Henry Austin, Frank, James and Henry Hood; Godmother, Ella; God sisters, Joann and Melanie; God brothers, Freddie and Roderick; her special God children, Shelia, Dominique, Wendell Jr. Cheerunda, Joseph and Jamiella; best friends, Moonie and Kimberly; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
