Paul A. Redeaux

Paul Redeaux was born September 22, 1923. He was the third of four children born to Fred and Lela Mae Redeaux. Paul attended Dunbar High School in Chicago and displayed a passion for cooking. He was an outstanding cook and kept his family and friends delighted with a variety of tasty dishes. At the age of seventeen, Paul enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After being honorably discharged, Paul returned home to Chicago where he met and fell in love with his wife to be, Edith Berry. They were later married in 1948. From that union, they had seven sons and two daughters. In 1959, Paul’s wife Edith began studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses. She soon began sharing the wonderful promises from God’s word with her family. During that time, Paul would often read enthusiastically to his children from the Bible based publication entitled, “From Paradise Lost – To Paradise Regained.” Years later, his efforts would prove to have a profound effect upon the spiritual lives of his family. Many today, are faithful servants of Almighty God, Jehovah. During his life, Paul clearly demonstrated that he understood the meaning of being a devoted husband and a loving father. From the very beginning, until the very end…he was there for his family. For weeks and months, Paul fought courageously as he battled sickness and the ravages of aging. On Tuesday, January 15, 2013, Paul quietly and peacefully fell asleep in death. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred; his mother, Lela Mae; his older brothers, Billy and Fred Redeaux; his younger sister, Elizabeth; as well as his eldest son, Anthony Redeaux and his youngest son, Donald Redeaux. Paul leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 64 years, Edith Redeaux; two loving daughters, Paula and Pamela (Edwin); five loving sons, Robert (Glennye), Sherman, David (Yvonne), Melvin (Yvonne) and Ronald (Constance); twelve grandsons, Anthony Jr., Terrence, Dorian, Shawn, Sherman Jr., Maurice, Martez, Michael, Nathan, Ronald Jr, Dietrich and Donald Jr.; seven granddaughters, April, Michelle, Monique, Quiana, Lakeisha, Contesa and Alexis; daughters-in-law, Nancy and Dorothy; and a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and friends.
