Regina M. Foster

Regina M. Foster was born to the union of Swayze Brownfield Sr. and Olivia Herron. She was one of four children. Regina graduated from Calumet High School. She was known for possessing a beautiful singing voice. She sang with "The Emotions" singing group and she sang and won numerous contests at the Regal Theatre in Chicago. She had a contagious smile and a vibrant personality. She loved laughing, dancing, going out to eat, and teaching people about the Bible. Regina was a loving wife and mother of five children. In caring for their physical needs, she began her working career at Cook County Hospital in the Medical Records Division. She later went on to work at the Tinley Park Mental Health center for 20 years. Regina Foster lived and was guided by Godly principles and a strong faith in Jehovah. She preached to everyone she met whether they wanted to hear it or not. She dedicated her life to Jehovah on January 1st, 1978. Of her 34 years of faithful service to Jehovah, she contributed the last 16 of those years as a regular pioneer up until the day she fell asleep in death. Regina was an entertainer and comedian who enjoyed making other people laugh and smile. She was a Humanitarian who was lovingly called “Dr. Nurse” using all her strength and efforts to provide assistance for the First Aid Department of the Regional Building Committee. She was a fashionista, who was our very own Top Model. She instilled her love for Jehovah in her children, and was a true source of encouragement for everyone she encountered. She was loved by literally thousands of friends from all over the world. She had charisma, charm and loved to laugh. Regina embarked on an incredible journey 2 years ago when she discovered that she had become ill with Ovarian Cancer....despite this, she always smiled and relied upon her faith in Jehovah for a source of endurance, strength and courage that carried her through the tough battle that lay ahead. On Wednesday, July 11, 2012 Regina fell asleep in death. She was preceded in death by her mother, Olivia Brownfield; and one brother, Jerome Herron. Regina leaves to cherish her memories her children, Raphael (wife, Juleen) Brownfield, LaTasha (husband, West) Grayer, John Foster, Mario (wife, LaToya) Foster and Monique Foster; her grandchildren, Rashelle, Julian, De'Zahn, Damani and coming soon Mathew; her father, Swayze Brownfield Sr.; one sister, Michelle Renee Brownfield-Nance (husband, John); one brother, Swayze W. Brownfield Jr. (wife, Ingrid); nieces and nephews, Eric Brownfield, Olivia Brownfield, Swayze "Poncho" Brownfield III, Kenneth Russell George Jr. and Jerry T. Battle; and a host of other relatives and friends.
