Rose M. Hall

Rose M. Hall: A women of excellence, elegance, and prestige. She was an innovator, mentor, and inspiration to many. Rose was born with great vision and purpose on July 22, 1935 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Willie Terrell and Minnie Lee Baylis Craft. She is the youngest of three children but she was the “boss”. She was married to S. T. Newsome and to this union was born one son, Willie Charles Newsome. She later married Tommy Hall, Sr. and to this union four children were born, three sons Barry Hall, Sr., Mark Hall, and Ricky Hall, Sr., and one daughter Gloria Maxey. Rose served over 30 years as a factory worker and supervisor at Midwest Marko in Chicago, Illinois. At an early age she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She remained an active member of the body of Christ even in her last days and was a faithful member of the Bread of Life Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend David L. Sutton. Rose served as the Chairperson for the Women’s Day Committee for many years. She served in the Pastor’s Aide Ministry, the Women’s Mission Union, and the Finishing Touch Committee. As a member of the Finishing Touch Committee she was responsible for the remodeling and efficient functioning of the kitchen at Bread of Life. She was mostly known for her phenomenal cooking skills and presentation during various church functioning assuring all was done with excellence and elegance. She prepared meals every Saturday for the Men’s Ministry, annual Valentine’s Day Brunches, and Vacation Bible School. In addition, she served as the President of the 5700 S. Seeley Block Club for many years. She was also member of the distinguished Marquette Ladies Chapter of the Red Hat Society since 2012. Rose M. Hall remained vibrant and active all her days. On June --, 2015, Rose departed this life. Her two sisters, Lillie Mae White and Dorothy Lane McGee; and three sons, Willie Charles Newsome, Barry Hall Sr. and Mark Hall proceeded her in death. Mrs. Rose M. Hall leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Gloria Maxey (Lisa) and one son, Ricky Hall, Sr. (Pam); seven grandchildren, Lawon Rochelle, Michael Hall (Tiara), Christian Hall, Genesis Hall, Ricky Hall, Jr., Barry Hall Jr., and Dale Wiley; 14 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, special extended family-The Brown Family; special friend, Janie Moore; other loved ones, and friends.
