Mrs. Stacy Carnell Patterson

Stacy Patterson was born Stacy Carnell Reid on April 3, 1964 in Chicago, IL to her parents, Howard Daniel Reid and Mary Louise Reid. She was the 2nd child of 4 born out of that union. Stacy graduated from Percy L. Julian High School on Chicago’s South Side in 1982. She would fondly speak of the school’s regarded arts, theatre and prestigious sports program during that time. Stacy was known for her loving and caring attitude, easy going personality, and her gift of gab. She touched the lives of many and assisted many families in times of need. Stacy enjoyed spending time with family. A family favorite was a card game affectionately known as “squeak”. She liked crocheting various items, was an official “House Head” enjoying listening to Chicago House Music, but was primarily known as a skater. It was her passion. Especially on the JB’s (James Brown) night, you would find her on the skating rink floor front and center no matter what. She was an artistic, industrious, and hardworking woman. Stacy would engage in many do-it-yourself projects around the house with her own artistic flare, she took pride in her work. That same work ethic she also applied to her secular work as well, where she became a valuable employee to Aldi Foods in a supervisory role for many years. From there, she transitioned into the construction trades, where she finished her career as a Journey-woman Electrician as a member of the IBEW Local 134 in Chicago. What really defined Stacy’s life was her faith and personal relationship with her God Jehovah. She embraced the teachings of the Bible, what it says about Jehovah, and His promises for the future. This motivated her, along with her mother, to both dedicate their lives to Jehovah God and symbolized that dedication through water baptism on October 4th, 1980. Her love for Jehovah grew so strong that it moved Stacy with zeal to do more in service to him. She soon decided to become a regular pioneer, devoting more time in the preaching and teaching work with her spiritual family. Her zeal and love for Jehovah moved her to become the spiritual nurturer of the family and to have a self-sacrificing spirit. Stacy was instrumental in taking a vested interest in helping her younger brothers and niece to learn about Jehovah, become baptized, and develop a personal relationship with him. After many years, she even persuaded her father to rekindle a love for Jehovah. Stacy’s desire was that everyone would come to know Jehovah, so she spent many hours talking to family and neighbors, personally assisting and studying with persons. Even when she couldn’t physically be in the ministry, it was her pioneering spirit that helped her endure various trials and resolve to remain faithful to Jehovah. It would be most fitting, that in the field ministry Stacy would meet her future husband, Elbert Patterson. It was their chance meeting that sparked a loving relationship that culminated into them being married on January 22nd, 2011. Jehovah blessed that union; Elbert was the crowning jewel of her life. Stacy became “G-ma” to 11 grandchildren whom she loved and adored as well as their parents of Elbert’s children and family. Stacy and Elbert Patterson enjoyed 10 full years of a joyful marriage, until her falling asleep in death on Sunday April 25th, 2021. She now awaits Jehovah’s promise of the resurrection hope as recorded at John 5: 28, 29. Stacy leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband Elbert Patterson. Four siblings: Antwone C. Reid, Kevin Daniel Reid (LaTaya), Marcellus LaTroy Reid (July), and Howard Daniel Reid Jr. Seven nephews and nieces: (by Antwone) Crystal Reid, Charles Byas, Dafondeau Stewart, and Arielle Reid, (by Kevin) Brandon Rashod Collier and Madison Danielle Reid, (by Marcellus) Marcellus LaTroy II and Mordecai Lasalle Reid. Fifteen great nephews and nieces from Crystal, James Barnett (deceased), Charles, Dafondeau, and Arielle, as well as a host of family, and friends.
