Tyrone R. Scott Sr.

Mr. Tyrone R. “Zeus” Scott Sr. was born October 23rd 1953 in Chicago, Illinois to Maymon Scott and Lucille Thomas Scott. He was the 3rd of six children to this union. Tyrone received his education in both Chicago, Illinois and Gary, Indiana Public School systems. He graduated from Alexander Dumas Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois and Theodore Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana. In high school he was an awesome athlete. He called himself “Zeus” because of his strength and speed on the football field. Zeus exampled strength and power and Tyrone did just that. He was respected for his wisdom and admired by many. Tyrone was a powerful man in anything he put his mind to. After high school, Tyrone completed and accomplished his Associates Degree in Home Construction and Remodeling. He continued his education with the United States Navy. While in the United States Navy he traveled all over the world; he had highlights and remarks in Canada, Europe and Asia. After years of serving for his country and out of the country, Tyrone became a United States Navy Purple Heart. Tyrone lived to protect his family and to serve his country. Tyrone worked for Conrail Railroad in Gary, Indiana, Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Burns Harbor, Indiana and for the United States Post Office at O’Hare in Chicago, Illinois. In his later years Tyrone moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to work in construction and to continue his photography business named “taking photos, will travel”. Tyrone loved to dress, cook and clean. He loved his cowboy boots and motorcycles, He had a saying “If you gonna ride, you gotta ride a Harley Davidson!” He had a unique personality and was very particular, he had to have things a certain way. He could fix any and everything. Tyrone was a God fearing man, a Brave and Courageous man, powerful and hardworking son, brother, husband, father, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He accepted Christ at a young age. He loved the Lord; his favorite Bible verse was Psalms 23. Tyrone was a very faithful and dedicated member of New Birth Faith Ministries of Minneapolis, Minnesota, under the leadership of Pastor Steven Clark and First Lady Clark. He was an Usher Board member and a Deacon Board member. His love for Jesus Christ and conviction as his servant was evident in his support for ministries at his church home. October 9th 2013 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, God dispensed his angels from Heaven to relieve Tyrone of his duties and released him of his pain. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Scott, and his brother Maymon Scott Jr. Mr. Tyrone R. “Zeus” Scott Sr. leaves cherished and loving memories with his children, Tyronda, Tyrone Jr., Tynesha, Chad, Teryan and Rochelle; two sisters, Montenes (Cornell) and Cherie (Leon); two brothers, Reginald and Dorian; four grandchildren, Yazzmine, Olajuwan, Djimon and Christopher; a dear first wife, Sheila Scott-Lewis and second wife, Pam Scott; his very special Gary, Indiana buddies, Oscar Brown, Paul Killians, Micheal Lewis, Carlton Miller, Derrick Satisfield and Eric Sutherland; and a host of other relatives and friends.
