Ms. Yolanda Greenwood-Christmas

Yolanda Greenwood Christmas was born (entered this world) on February 11, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois. Yolanda developed a love for knowledge at an early age that would continue throughout her entire life. She attended schools in the Chicagoland area and went on to earn several college degrees that enabled her to pursue positions that brought her satisfaction as she was able to help others. Yolanda loved helping others. Throughout her life she held many different jobs such as Social Worker, Substance Abuse Counselor, Public Guardian Advocate and her personal favorite, Registered Nurse. She had received a certification to work with victims of sexual assault just prior to being diagnosed with a life threatening illness. Yolanda was always seeking to improve her skills to become a better and more effective caregiver. Yolanda loved helping people. Yolanda was a friendly kind-hearted young lady who grew up attending the meetings and conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her mother worked to instill and cultivate solid Christian values in her only daughter during her early years. Anyone who knew Yolanda could see that she reflected Jehovah's most dominant attribute, love. Yolanda met and married her husband and to this union were born two beautiful daughters. Yolanda and her husband enjoyed traveling and other activities during their 21 years of marriage. As many parents do, they made sacrifices to guide and provide for their "girls", as she affectionately referred to them. Yolanda loved her girls. Several years before her illness, Yolanda returned to attending meetings and conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses and resumed her study of God's word, the Bible. She fell ill before she acheived her goal of becoming baptized, but she was making changes in her life that reflected her desire to align her life with the teachings and examples set forth by Jesus Christ. Yolanda loved Jehovah and his son, Jesus. Yolanda was down to earth, warm, sensitive and displayed a welcoming spirit to all who knew her. Her sense of humor was infectious and people enjoyed being around her. She will be missed. Yolanda loved people and people loved her. On Tuesday August 3rd, 2021, Yolanda fell asleep in death. Her battle with her illness was over. Yolanda's smile, voice and witty sense of humor will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
