April 3, 1941 - September 8, 2019
Anise Washington was born into this world on April 3, 1941, to Rufus Washington and Ida Bell Gilson. Anise grew up in Sunflower, Mississippi, where she graduated from Coahoma High School in 1958. The family moved to Clarksdale, MS. There she met her future husband Cal. They fell in love and moved to Chicago, Illinois, were they married in 1964. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her husband Cal and their four children Calvin, Christopher, Shounta, and Linda. Anise gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of the New Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, IL. She served on the nurses board. Anise worked various jobs, most notably at Meystel’s Warehouse in Chicago, IL. Anise’s kind and warm spirit made people want to be around her. Her passions were God, family, and friends, in that order. She knew how to tell a joke and when to give advice or a needed hug. Her interests include drawing and spending time with her family. After a lifetime of love and commitment to her husband and family, Anise Temple made a peaceful exit from this life and went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents Rufus and Ida Bell Washington and her brothers Johnny and James Washington. Anise leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Cal; sons Calvin (Nicole), Christopher (Miyoshi), and Shounta; daughter Linda (Derrick); her grandchildren Marquee Jr., Tatiana, Maxine, and Samuel; great grandchild Jamaree Lee; sisters Ruby Kemp and Velma Jean Brown; her brothers Sylvester Washington, Rufus Washington Jr., and Willie Washington; as well as a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. If there is anyone we forgot please charge it to our head and not to our heart.
