Annie Bedenfield was born on February 21, 1945 in Sylacauga, Alabama to the late Robert Lee and Corine J. Harris. She was the youngest to her sibling Angela Looney. She attended and graduated from both Tuskegee University and Chicago State University where she received 2 Masters. She than started her career as a Teacher. She specialized in Special Ed for 33 years before she retired. Annie met the love of her life, Kendell Bedenfield Sr. in 1970, on a blind date. Two weeks later he asked her to marry him. After years of chasing, on February 14, 1976, she finally said “I do”. They bore 2 sons, Kendell and Dawson. She was introduced to Jehovah‘s Witnesses in the early 70’s. Through a deep study of the Bible, she dedicated her life to Jehovah in the year 1985. She spent the remaining of her life contributing to the life saving ministry where she was able to encourage both her husband and children to water baptism. April 3, 2012, she was blessed to receive her first grandchild, Kendell Bedenfield III. March 16, 2015, she received her second grandchild, Julian Lee Bedenfield. Her grandchildren gave her a new found reason to enjoy life. There’s absolutely nothing she wouldn’t do for her grandchildren. Annie fell asleep in death on January 30, 2020 in her home, believing that she earned a space in Jehovah’s memory to one day be resurrected in paradise conditions right here on this earth. Annie is survived by her husband Kendell Bedenfield Sr. of nearly 44 years of Chicago, IL; her 2 sons Kendell Bedenfield Jr. (Laura) and Dawson Harris Bedenfield; her 2 grandsons Kendell Bedenfield III and Julian Lee Bedenfield; her sister Angela Looney (Harold); and a host of caring nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
