Dewand Alton Goodman was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 16, 1978. He was the middle-child of three siblings. Dewand was fondly called “Bug” by his family and close friends. Dewand accepted Christ at a very young age; where he was an active member in his family home church Greater Straightway M.B. Dewand attended and graduated from Perkins Bass Elementary School and William Harper High School. Dewand also attended Olive-Harvey College and Columbia College in pursuit of a degree in Film and Television. Dewand was a very charismatic, fun-hearted, loyal and devoted person. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. People loved and were drawn to him for being non-judgmental and a good listener. Dewand was hilarious, and often times was the life of the party. He loved to watch and quote funny scenes from movies. He was very creative, and over-all a man who loved his family. In his early teens Dewand developed a passion for rap music. Dewand gained some local music success as rapper Mr. Bugz within his city and community, with two smash-singles One-N-Pass and Insanity. Dewand later co-founded the rap group Gansta-rellies which he was also a member. Dewand held several jobs throughout his life, most noted was the 10 years he worked for social services. Our Bible tells us in (Psalm 55:22) Cast thy burden upon the Lord and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous. On Saturday morning, November 13, 2021, the Most-High called Dewand home to live in everlasting life with the Lord. Dewand joins his mother, his younger brother, his grandparents, and a host of loved ones.
