Dorothy Fraction
November 20, 1932 - February 1, 2020
Dorothy Thompson was born on November 20, 1932 to John D. and Georgia Thompson in Gloster, Mississippi, where she grew up along side her sister, Mary Ann and brother John Jr. After meeting Eddie Fraction Jr. in the early 50’s, the two were married in 1953 at the Tabernacle Church in Chicago. A holy woman, she was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Hard working and loyal for almost 30 years at Stewart-Warner, Dorothy would walk home every day, even in the cold and snowy Chicago winters. Once she started to drive, there was nothing stopping her. Excellent in the kitchen, her husband Eddie would grill the meat while she would cook the sides. Her most famous dishes were her macaroni and cheese and her spaghetti. She also enjoyed a variety of music, from the R & B classics to Elvis Presley. Her favorite artist was soul legend James Brown. When Eddie passed in 2011, Dorothy took his death hard. In 2017, she sold her home and moved to Ocean Springs, Mississippi to be near her daughter, Consuelo. Dorothy Fraction passed away on February 1st, 2020. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Consuelo Hudson; her step-daughter, Beverly Wilcher; her granddaughters, Jacqueline Hudson and Jephreda Hudson; nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
