Born December 28, 1946, in Rondo, Arkansas to John Smith and Catherine Lewis. Elvin was the eldest son and very close to his siblings. He attended Lee Senior High School and graduated in 1965. Soon thereafter, he served in the US Army, moved to Chicago, and married his longtime friend, Queen Esther. They went on to have three children. He attended college for Culinary Arts which enhanced his love for cooking. His love for cooking, grilling, and baking was only overshadowed by his enjoyment of those eating his meals. Elvin’s love for music was apparent with his collection of tapes and records he had accumulated throughout the years. He loved to travel, especially, driving taking the family on many road trips. He loved cooking, music, travel, gardening and was devoted to his family. Proceeded in death by his wife Queen Esther, father John (Louise) Smith Survived by his mother: Catherine; His children: Mark Anthony (Jennifer) Smith, Felicia Andrea Smith, and Angelita Sabrina Smith; Grandson Mark Anthony Smith Jr.; Siblings: Eloise, Leona, Alma, Christine, Janis, Brenda, Linda, John (Ed), Johnny, Robert, and Arnet; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
