Mr. Erik Evans

November 9, 1984 - February 19, 2022

Erik Terrell Evans was born on November 9th 1984. Erik was the oldest of three children born to Andre and Celeste Evans in Evergreen Park, Illinois. Erik was a loveable, adorable, sweet baby with a contagious smile. He enjoyed spending time with his many cousins. One of Erik’s favorite things to do as a child was to go to McDonald’s with his grandfather, John Word and order a happy meal. Erik had a very large collection of happy meal toys. Erik attended John Whistler Elementary School and graduated 1999. His loving personality helped him to gain life long friends from his days at Whistler. Erik attended Fenger High School and graduated in 2004. Erik enjoyed sports and was very athletic. While at Fenger HighSchool, Erik played football. He led the Fenger Titans to two state championships. Erik also attended Robert Morris College and pursued other means of higher education. Erik worked at New Star as a residential care aid for the last several years. He enjoyed working with his clients at New Star. He was very compassionate about his clients. Erik worked at various jobs over the years and made friends everywhere he went. Erik enjoyed getting a fresh haircut and brushing his black wavy hair. He had a passion for fast cars. He loved music and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed making others laugh and smile. He always knew how to light up the room and could capture people with his contagious smile. Erik was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Eva Evans, John and Ernestine Word. His aunt Jacqueline Jackson, Uncle Worth Jackson, Uncles John J. Word, Jimmie Word, Aunt Betty Ann Mays, and cousin Stephanie Mays. Erik will be missed by all who knew him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother and father, his younger brother Andrew Evans, his baby sister Ciana Evans, his sister Alisia Evans, and a host of cousins and loving friends. Erik was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness and he looked forward to the Bible’s promise of a resurrection. We will miss him so very dearly, until we are together again in Paradise!
