Mrs. Frankie Ellen Phillips
May 21, 1950 - July 24, 2021
FRANKIE ELLEN PHILLIPS, was born on May 28, 1950, (although her birth certificate says May 31, 1950), in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents preceded her in death. Frankie was the third born of the four children born of the marriage of her mother and father. Frankie also had a half-brother and a half sister, from her parents’ first marriages, both now deceased. Frankie was the baby of the family for 8 years before her brother was born and she did not want to give up her title as “baby”. Our mother consoled her by confirming that she would always be the “baby girl” of the family. And that she was! Frankie was baptized and confirmed at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church in 1961 and accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Parker High School. In 1967, Frankie married and she had two sons. Frankie’s daughter, was later born from a different relationship. Frankie was a mother, a great cook and homemaker. After a 20-odd year relationship/courtship, Frankie married. They were like two peas in a pod, always together, but unfortunately, he passed away in 2008. Frankie loved to sing and had a beautiful singing voice. She especially enjoyed karaoke at her sisters backyard parties where she could sing one of her favorite songs, the Sam Cooke version of “Frankie and Johnnie”.
