Lille Riddle Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

LILLIE RIDDLE was born to the union of Johnnie Cates and Hattie Wesley on September 13, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois. Again, death has invaded the rank of our beloved Lillie on November 10, 2020. It has carried not only a loving soul, an overcomer, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, godmother and loyal friend but a person who touched many people during her path of life. At an early age, Lillie accepted Christ as her Personal Savior and was baptized. She was formally educated in Chicago Public Schools. Lillie worked in the Healthcare field for many years until her retirement. LILLIE, an amazing grandmother and great-grandmother was affectionately known as “Granny”, a modern-day superwoman in their eyes who knew her well. In addition, she raised, nurtured and loved her granddaughters Sh’meka and Monique along with being actively involved with Alesia (Motorboat) upbringing in Michigan. LILLIE had a meek personality and a compassionate warm heart. If you needed somewhere to eat, sleep, or an open ear to listen, “Miss Lillie” would let you in no matter what your differences or flaws. She was a woman of few words but when she spoke everyone listened. Her acceptance of everyone was one of a kind!!!! LILLIE’s favorite pastimes were listening to soul music, attending parties, and bopping. She never hesitated to dress-up and look pretty when the occasion called for it and was known for having fine jewelry and nice shoes. She loved spending time with family at all gatherings. She looked forward to going to concerts and dinner with her nieces. LILLIE will forever be remembered in the hearts of her two sons Stanley Wesley (Antonika) and Aaron Riddle; one daughter Latasha Riddle (Darnell); three bonus grandchildren Sh’meka Wesley-Jackson (Teeon), Monique Riddle and Alesia Wesley; one sister Sylvia Johnson; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins Donnie Kirksey and Linda Kirksey. She leaves a special memory her closest friends the Riddle family, Earline Kimble and Arthur Lee and many friends and acquaintances. LILLIE was preceded in death by her father Johnny Cates; mother Hattie Wesley; daughter Annette Wesley; three brothers James Wesley, Allen Wesley and Willie Wesley (twin); and three sisters Allene Boyd, Marilyn Stewart and Carolyn Singleton.
