Mae Ella Smith was born to Alonzo and Alzura Landrum on December 22, 1929 in Augusta, Arkansas. She was the the seventh of thirteen children, seven sisters and five brothers. Mae moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1950, where she met and married her first husband and to that union four children were born: Michael, Willie, Glenda and Anthony. Years later she married Johnson Smith and to that union one child was born: Vincent. Mae spent over 50 years in the nursing field, she also loved to sew, cook, cater events and plan family gatherings. After a study of God's word, Mae dedicated her life to Jehovah in June 1969, symbolizing her dedication through water baptism. She spent many hours in the full time ministry sharing her faith with others. One of her favorite scriptures was Revelation 21:4 "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore the former things have passed away." Mae fell asleep in death April 6, 2020. She was proceeded in death by her parents; two sons Willie J. Sharperson and Vincent Smith; brothers: Eddie Landrum and William Landrum; and sisters: Fannie Grant, Will Ella Roland, and Ruby Jean Walter. Mae leaves to cherish her memories, three children: Michael T. Sharperson, Glenda Richmond (Fred), and Anthony Sharperson; three sisters: Annie Haywood, Levada Bibbs and Savannah Snodgrass; two brothers: Walter Landrum and Isaac Landrum; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, all of which will miss her greatly.
