Ms. Monica Renee Hammond

Monica Renee Hammond was born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 18, 1968. She was born to Jennie Beatrice Hammond and Sherman Taylor Jr. Monica was the youngest of six children. She went to Beale and Yale Elementary, and Julian High School. She attended Loop College for a year and a half for computer science, until her illness overtook her. While she was dealing with her illness, Monica began learning about Jehovah. Her love of God led her to study with Jehovah’s Witnesses. This changed her life. Jehovah’s love and underserved kindness gave her a measure of comfort, love and peace in her life. After making the truth her own Monica dedicated her life to Jehovah and symbolized it by water baptism in 1987. She was active in her congregation and loved by her millions of brothers and sisters. Monica enjoyed Art and Music. She was an artist, devoted sister and loving friend. She worked at her chosen profession computer science whenever her health allowed. On January 4, 2022, Monica fell asleep in death. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Brenda, and nephew Jerrell. Monica leaves to cherish her memory, 4 sisters Gladys, Beverly, Valerie, and Venus; a loving aunt Lillie Hammond; 13 nieces and nephews, 35 great nieces and nephews and 9 great great nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends. A vast fleshly and spiritual family. Monica’s families love knew no bounds. She loved them and they loved her completely.
