August 8, 1970 - August 15, 2019
Paul was known and loved by many for his outgoing spirit and fun loving personality. From an early age Paul exhibited a disposition that seemed to say "Hello world, here I am!" Paul always lived life on his own terms. Paul was very family orientated. He LOVED his daughters Jasmine and Zarria. He was always eager to share with others how proud he was to spend time with them on “Daddy Daughter Dates”. He affectionately referred to his younger brother, David, as "Lil' Bruh", and his younger sister Diondra as "Baby Sis". He always expressed how proud he was of his younger siblings and how happy he was to see them doing so well in life. He also had a special love for his forever “baby girl” Trixie, his beloved shih tzu. She was his feisty protector and the “boss” of his world. Paul was diagnosed with Hypertension at an early age which ultimately led to kidney failure while only in his 20’s. Paul was very blessed to have had 3 successful kidney transplants and many good years dialysis free. The transplants enabled him to enjoy years of happy memories and milestones with family and friends. He was always grateful to have been given another chance of life. He even had a 20+ year’s career as a Dialysis Technician. His mission was to be an inspiration to his patients every day to show there was life outside of kidney disease. Paul’s most recent successful kidney transplant was received in August 2018. Although he experienced set-backs post-transplant with other health challenges, he had another chance of life without dependency on dialysis. His "new" kidney never failed (even to the very end). As his family we were proud of the son, brother, father, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many that he was. He was a true example of perseverance and determination and he will always be our hero. Paul has many relatives on both sides of his family. In his immediate family he leaves to cherish his memories; his parents Terry Jr. and Wendy; his brother and sister David (Shalonda) and Diondra (Shawn) Bell; his daughters Jasmine and Zarria; his niece and nephews Musiic Penix, Jazzton Penix, Shawn Bell Jr., and Michael Bell; and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins. In addition, there are literally hundreds of dear friends, co-workers, patients, and associates whose lives he impacted and who will always remember him.
