Rhonda was born on the west side of Chicago on September 12, 1953. She was the 2nd oldest of 6 children. Rhonda and her siblings had a close relationship. They were a musically inclined family and enjoyed performing together. Rhonda particularly enjoyed singing and dancing she even made an appearance as a soul train dancer. It was during these years that she was introduced to the truth by her oldest sister who asked Rhonda the question: ” Would you like to live forever?” Finding the answer to that question led her to build a personal relationship with Jehovah. In the year of 1978 Rhonda dedicated her life to Jehovah by water Baptism. Rhonda taught her children Bible truths which motivated 5 of her children to serve Jehovah along with her. Rhonda also had a special relationship with her grandchildren. Rhonda served as a regular pioneer for 8 years and was privileged to attend pioneer service school twice with 2 of her daughters. When her health no longer allowed her to regular pioneer she continued her service to Jehovah as a continuous auxiliary pioneer. She continued to display her faith and trust in Jehovah under trying circumstances refusing to accept a blood transfusion under the threat of death. On the night before her death Rhonda again turned to Jehovah for comfort, telling Carmen “hurry up and read the Bible to me!” She even asked Monica to make sure she turned in her field service time. Rhonda was proceeded in death by her parents Mary Jackson and Lovell Lewis, and her sister Déborah Heade. Rhonda is survived by her husband Charles. Her children Anastasia, Romonda (Samuel), Charles Jr. (Tasha), Kevin, Monica, Kimberly and Carmen. Fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Siblings: Robert “Bobbie” Lewis, Kenneth (Tracey) Lewis, Gregory Lewis and Felicia Lewis. Nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
