Thomas K. Taylor

Thomas Kerrick Taylor was born on March 18, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio to Earl Anderson and Thayle Johnson. He grew up in Chicago, Illinois where he was raised by his mom and stepfather, Willie Taylor. Kerry was affectionately known by his wife as "Dad" and "Tommy T."; by his children as "Cat Daddy", "Pops", "Harley" and "Hops"; by his aunts and uncles as "Kerry Boy"; and by many others as "TK" and "Smooth Sailor". Kerry began working for the United States Post Office at the young age of 15, where he would begin his 37 year career. He graduated from Wendell Phillips High School in 1970. In 1973, Kerry met-as he described-his beautiful gorgeous girl, Diane "Dee-Dee" White. They were united in wedlock on December 30, 1978 and lovingly raised nine children. Kerry had many joys in life. One was when he learned from the Bible that after his mother's death he would get to see her again through the promised earthly resurrection. From that point forward he began to learn about Jehovah and all the beautiful promises found in the Bible, and together with Dee-Dee he dedicated his life to Jehovah in 1979. So strong was his belief in those Bible promises that on his death bed he told all of his family that he wants to see them in the promised new world. Kerry had a great sense of humor and the biggest smile that could lighten up the darkest room. He was more than just a husband or father to us, he was our friend, our super man, and our go-to guy. He always gave the best advice. There was never a problem too small or too big that he couldn't fix for us. His love for the family unit was shown in many ways. As a family, we always did activities together, from having playful family fights, to working on cars, to having family studies. Even though there were nine children, he knew each and every one of us individually and was never biased in his love for all of us. Kerry was truly adored by his brothers and sisters. He protected them and cared for them all of their lives. He was always considered the favorite nephew, cousin and uncle. There was not one heart Kerry did not touch! To know him was to truly love him! On December 15, 2016, Kerry fell asleep in death. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his baby sister, Ina Taylor. Kerry leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Diane; his children, Chontalle, Kerry, Dachon (Rosie), Capri, Shannon (Stephanie), Tiera, Bionca, Earl and Dominique; seventeen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four sisters, Sabrina, Candida, Jennifer and Felicia; two brothers, Dana and Glen; one aunt, Blythe Ann; two uncles, Daryl and Bryce; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many special friends.
