Fannie Mae Casara

Fannie Mae Sanders was born November 16, 1950 in Beatrice, Alabama to the union of Lansome "Buck" Sanders and Fannie Sanders. She was one of three beautiful daughters. Fannie attended J.F. Shields High School where she left a lasting impression on all that knew her. She acquired many good friends and memories of which she remembered and shared with all of her children up until her very last days. As a lovely young woman, Fannie Mae moved to Chicago, Illinois. She met the love of her life, a handsome Jazz musician named James D. Casara and on June 30, 1979, the two united in holy matrimony. To this union four daughters and one son were born. After a study of God's word the Bible, Fannie Mae dedicated her life to Jehovah and symbolized her dedication through water baptism alongside her husband, James. Together they served Jehovah faithfully for many years preaching and teaching to their family and all they met. Mae, as she was affectionately known, was a beautiful person inside and out. Her spirituality and family was most important to her and the center of her life. She would give her very last to help anyone in need and was often caring for others. On Monday, August 17, 2015, Fannie Mae Casara fell asleep in death. She was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Sanders; her father, Lansome "Buck" Sanders; one brother, Henry Sanders; her husband, James Casara; and one daughter, Eva Mae Casara. Fannie Mae leaves to cherish her loving memories, her children for whom she was an exceptionally loving, nurturing and caring mother, April (Paul III) Thomas, Melody (James) Thomas, Autumn (Gregory Jr.) Bell, Estrellita (Davin) Ellis and James Jr. (LeAnn) Horwath; her grandchildren, Angela, Julius, Eva, Ashura, Rayvin, Jonathan, Naadir, Samiir, Michael, Jelond, Jaquan, Summer, James III, Dahlia, Lailani and Shiloh; her sisters, Lynda Sanders and Irene (Floyd) Bradberry; her brothers, John (Marie) Sanders, David Sanders, Elbert (Barbara) Sanders, Rev. Jimmy (Maude) Sanders, Clinton Sanders, Jerome (Jacqueline) Sanders and Raymond (Beverly) Sanders; her spiritual sister and best friend of over 35 years, Josephine Finley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, her spiritual brothers and sisters who helped keep her spiritually sound during the difficult times and many friends.
