Mr. L.E. Brown Jr.

Our beloved L.E. Brown Jr. received the gift of life on February 19, 1944. He took advantage of the training he received through his developmental hears and grew to become a respected husband and father, a hard conscientious worker, as well as a genuine and loyal friend to many. He truly loved people. All who became close to him, knew that he also loved fishing. Often, he and his wife, Charlene, would take trips just to enjoy his favorite pastime at his favorite fishing place, McHenry Dam. Upon returning home with the freezer loaded, he would lovingly share his catch while remembering the special requests made for specific parts and quantities. Afterwards, he would even cook some for family and friends to enjoy together. One day, he recognized that life needed more, and he made a vow to serve God all his remaining days. This began his search to find an acceptable way to live up to that vow. He agreed to study the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses and rejoiced in finding that it filled his spiritual need. On May 3, 1998, his spiritual life began when he became a dedicated and baptized servant of Jehovah God. This life brough him the greatest joy along with the fact that he was not alone in service of the Great King, Jehovah. He joined others in his family who served in special ways as full-time servants devoting many hours to the work. They enjoyed expanded service as Need Greaters by moving to assist in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, Bethel service, regular pioneers, ministerial servants and faithful congregation publishers. After retirement from CTA and while working with Paige Enterprises, you would find him engaging in the ministry during early mornings, midday, and afternoon hours, even on weekends. Everyone he met received a message about Jehovah and his love for them. Yes, tired but happy, after sharing time with the friends in the congregation, he returned home to prepare for the next day of service. As time passed, he matured and was appointed as a Ministerial Servant to further assist in supporting the local congregation. He served in this capacity for more than 15 years. Everyone found that L.E. was an easy person to befriend and love as he gave freely of himself. He was determined to give his best to Jehovah, and he did even with declining years. His joy didn’t diminish as he held to his dedication. A would without pain, sorrow, and death was his hope. His life enriched the lives of his beloved and devoted wife, Charlene, who stood with him until his death; sons Anthony, Andre, L.E. Jr. (Shreda), Michael (Donna), Michael, Keith (Marianne) and Marcell; daughters Antoinette, Charise, Paula and Yolanda (Donald); sister Joyce Brown; sisters-in-law Sandral (Leonard) and Elaine; brother-in-law Solomon (Cheryl); uncles McKinnley and Willie; aunts Dorothy and Lenora; 19 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, along with other family and friends.
