Larry Barber

Larry Barber was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 23, 1954 to proud parents, Percy Allen and Thelma Barber. Larry attended Forestville Elementary and Martin Luther King High School in Chicago, IL. In 1973, Larry met his "Loving and Dedicated Wife" of 35 years Septema Louise Tate. They were married on August 4, 1979. From this union they had the privileged of having three beautiful children, Aleta Larice, Larry Andre' and Antoine Latrell. Also, his affectionate pet name "Fluffy". Larry also loved Jehovah alongside with his wife. They both learned about Jehovah's promises of everlasting life on a paradise earth together. Through his lifetime, Larry has worked many and various jobs. In 1979, he started work at Curtiss Candy, now known as Nestle. Larry dedicated 25 years of service to the company. At Nestle, Larry acquired numerous "Friends" that became "Family" to him. Larry was the "life and joy" of his "Family". He loved telling jokes, playing cards and especially entertaining his "Family". His favorite sports team are the Chicago Bulls and Bears. His passion for music was deep in his heart, and it was shown as he enjoyed listening to it.. He became fondly known as "LB-DJ". On Monday, June 2, 2014, Larry fell asleep in death. He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy Allen and Thelma Barber; one brother-in-law, Louis; and one sister-in-law, BeAnne; two brothers, Robert and John. Larry leaves behind to carry on his legacy, his "Beautiful Wife" Septema; his children, Aleta Nemo (Troy), Larry Andre' and Antoine; grandchildren, Jaleda, Troy Jr., Aajahne, Tavion, Ahnya, Fabian Latrell and Andreya; one great grandchild, Jayden; his loving and devoted siblings, Frank (Fannie), Kenneth (Marilyn), Dorothy, Alean, Patricia and Charlene (Jason); mother-in-law, Jeanie Godfrey; father-in-law, Albert Tate; brother-in-law, Albert Eugene (Janice); sisters-in-law, Phyllis and Dale; and a host of special nephews and nieces who held a special place in his heart, along with cousins, workmates and dear friends which includes a loyal friend, Clay. He will be sincerely missed by all.
